Human Services Legal Representation

The primary responsibility of the Lake County Attorney’s Office is to provide legal representation and advice to Lake County Health and Human Services in matters concerning child protection, adult protection, child support and collections, and involuntary commitment of mentally ill, intellectual disabled, and chemically dependent adults. In addition, the county attorney investigates and prosecutes welfare fraud, criminal non-support, and paternity matters.

The Lake County Attorney’s office does not represent individual citizens and cannot give legal advice.
