The purpose of the meeting is to share how the fiscal disparities program impacts commercial/industrial classed properties in Lake County. Minnesota House Research Department legislative analysts have prepared a publication that provides an overview of Minnesota’s tax-base sharing programs and can be viewed online at https://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/hrd/pubs/fiscaldis.pdf. The Iron Range Fiscal Disparities program is a state commercial tax base sharing program that provides for the sharing in the commercial industrial property tax base of the seven taconite counties: Aitkin, Cook, Crow Wing, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis.
