Recycling Center

Recycling in Lake County is accomplished through joint cooperation between the Lake County Solid Waste Department and private enterprise. Lake County owns and operates a full service recycling facility located within the City of Two Harbors on Recycle Center Drive (across from North Shore Manufacturing.)

*Aluminum redemption for cash program operated by DAC of Two Harbors, Monday though Thursday 12:30-2:30PM

  • Aerosol cans (pesticide aerosol cans can be recycled at Household Hazardous Waste; food aerosols can be placed in the garbage)

Lake County reserves the option to add or subtract services to react to the changing waste stream.

Medical Sharp Drop off Locations in Lake County

  • Lake View Silver Bay Medical Clinic, 50 Outer Dr., Silver Bay. Open Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Lake View Medical Clinic Two Harbors, 325 11th Avenue, Two Harbors. Open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 pm.
  • Lake County Recycling Center, Recycle Center Drive, Two Harbors. Open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Fall Lake Transfer Station

Fall Lake Township operates a solid waste transfer station. Garbage, recycling, used oil and filters, and yard waste is accepted at the transfer station located at:

May-August: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday 8:00AM-4:00PM
September: Wednesday and Saturday 8:00AM-4:00 PM
October-April: Saturday 8:00AM-4:00PM
