Public health nurses support:

  • WIC (Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children)
  • Immunization information
  • Child and Teen Check-ups (for children on Medical Assistance and Minnesota Care)
  • Home visiting programs for childbirth education, new moms and babies, help with breastfeeding, parenting information and help, home safety checks
  • Home visits for families whose children have high blood lead levels
  • Follow Along Program tracks children up to four to assure appropriate growth and development
  • Foot care and blood pressure clinics for the elderly
